We would urge you to be careful yet not assume lot of fake news on Internet. #investors may choose to not invest based on many criteria. Some of these investors may demand some upfront cost as we are aware of. However if they are transparent as part of consulting or commission then one must not make an opinion as they have right to ask upfront money. However some allegation of not coming on time and never showing up is indeed unprofessional.
If someone does not like some startups pitch they can very well give feedback and politely refuse to take it forward.
Transparency is key to the success of startups and investors !!
