Investor -Hub name changed to Deal Room !!
Hi all, Wanted to inform about this decision today that we have changed group Investor-Hub name to Deal Room. Vision of keeping another group besides the default group of Fund India was that some investors requested privacy or will only connect with serious founders that they came up in private group. Deal Room is precisely addressing that need.
Some of you who got into Investor Hub with hope to raise money but got lukeworm response. We in our wisdom have decided that we will connect you to 15-20 of our best investors chosen randomly on email so that you can kick start your discussion at some point. If we have more BW then we will not hesitate to connect with more like another 5 to 10 more investors. We have developed good repo and using our goodwill you can open doors for you.
FOR NEW STARTUPS JOINING IN - FUNDRAISING IS VERY DIFFICULT Since we raise funds professionally I want to tell it is not easy . It is gruesome , tiring, keeping track, following up , meeting calenders and reaching new ones and soon in six months it can go into hundreds. Some rule of thumb from our experience is for every 20 odd mails we get one response and there are numerous kind of feedback. We can cite many however mostly it is on level of readiness, sector , ticket size, already invested , not in the sweet spot, shifting focus, change in strategy, new age tech etc etc. There is also no right answer to the energy and will-skill of the founding team and cap table. Last but not the least due to pre-seed and pre- revenue and insane valuation people are unable to give their savings and get enough stake of meaning etc etc. We have close to 5000 investors on email and whatsapp. And for every startup we have reach out to same number of people bcos we do not know who will like whom. It can be FOMO or something new, energy or creativity of deck etc etc.
However I hope some of you get money from here and those who invested get successful exits and further invest into more startups and have great journey through. We will celebrate that we could make a difference.
