🚀 Startup India Seed Funding: How Much Can You Get & Who Is Eligible?

Many early-stage founders assume funding is only for VC-backed startups. In reality, the Startup India Seed Fund Scheme (SISFS) was created specifically to support idea-stage and early-revenue startups.

Here’s a clear breakdown 👇

💰 How Much Funding Is Possible?

Under the Seed Fund Scheme, startups can receive:

🔹 Up to ₹20 Lakhs as grant

• For idea validation

• Prototype development

• Proof of concept

• Product trials

🔹 Up to ₹50 Lakhs as debt / convertible debentures

• For market entry

• Commercialization

• Scaling operations

👉 Total support can go up to ₹70 Lakhs, depending on the startup stage and evaluation.

✅ Who Is Eligible? (Key Qualifications)

To qualify, a startup must:

✔ Be recognized by DPIIT (Startup India)

✔ Be incorporated within the last 2 years (at the time of application)

✔ Have a clear innovation or value proposition

✔ Not have received more than ₹10 Crores in external funding

✔ Be working on technology-driven or scalable business models

✔ Have a strong founding team and execution plan

📌 Important to Note

⚠ Funding is not given directly by the Government

✔ It is routed through approved incubators

✔ Selection is based on innovation, feasibility, scalability, and impact

✔ Proper documentation, pitch deck, and financial clarity are critical

💡 Founder Insight

Most rejections happen not because of the idea — but due to poor structuring, weak documentation, or non-alignment with scheme guidelines.

Being fund-ready matters more than just applying.
