How do you make your perfect pitch deck appeal to Investors - Learn Power messaging !!
All too often sellers use commodity messaging and as a result prospects will see little difference between your solution and their current approach. If you believe you are not guilty of commodity messaging think about how often you use some of the following to describe your offer?
Flexible
Best in class
Customer Focused
Best ROI
Market Leading
Scalable
The concept of power messaging is rooted in ‘brain science’ research that reveals we still have a 'lizard' type brain! The approach uses storytelling to create a buying vision, urgency and a path for the prospect to select you. The approach uses whiteboard drawn, simple pictures to help give the storytelling real punch. The use of pictures (according to the science) ensures that prospects remember the value and can retell the essence of the story, to others in their organisations. The philosophy really pushes you to ditch PowerPoint in favour of drawing, and more customer interaction.
So here is my drawing attempt to describe the Hammock.

At the start of a conversation you can expect 70% attention but very quickly this drops-off to as low as 20%. So why do we regularly deliver the essential elements of our message in the middle of a meeting? The ‘Hammock’ is a visual representation of people's attention during a typical presentation. The methodology offers us help, in the form of tools that help 'spike' the conversation.
The first and for me probably the most important concept is the Point of View. This is a visual (i.e. white board drawing) that speaks to the prospect’s world. It helps the prospect see how the world has changed (old assumptions/models will no longer work) and shows a different perspective for the prospect to view his world. This new perspective includes a new safe path for the prospect. There is of course, plenty of contrast between the old status quo and this new way. The Point of View is rooted in an area where you have a key differentiation. When the prospect sees their world through this lens you are logically the partner to help him/her along this safe path.
Below is a quick drawing of a Point of View that I have used in one of our market segments.

To get further insight into the use of a Point of View, I suggest you watch this short video from Corporate Visions who train on this methodology.
