Is Y Combinator turning its back on Indian Startups?

Uncomfortable truth!

Indian founders once had a strong presence in YCombinator, with a record #74_startups in 2021 across Winter and Summer batches, followed by #51_Startups in 2022. But the numbers began to slide rapidly, #18_Startups in 2023, before collapsing to JUST_4_Startups in 2024.

Despite rising applications from #India, the acceptance trend shows a clear and dramatic decline, signaling YC’s shifting priorities and leaving many to question whether its doors are quietly closing on Indian entrepreneurs.

Here's what I think - the steep decline isn’t random, it reflects a strategic shift inside YC rather than a sudden drop in the quality of Indian founders. The Indian ecosystem is stronger than ever.

The question is, do Indian startups still need a Silicon Valley stamp, or is it finally time to build here, for here, with our money?

That is true what I love about India is we are real what you see is what you get. This will help me to change the world format from the nation that has the largest population in this world.
