India’s appetite for luxury cars is shifting gears and Tier-2 cities are leading the acceleration.

According to Spinny's (a company which sells pre owned cars )April – June 2025 data, demand for pre owned luxury cars surged over 30% in cities like Jaipur, Coimbatore, and Kochi.

But here's the real game changer:

🔹 80% of these transactions are now happening online.

Yes, even luxury is going digital.

☑️ What’s igniting this fire in the used-luxury segment?

As per Crisil, India’s used car market is growing at a steady 8 - 10% annually and is expected to touch 6 million units by FY26.

That’s 2x the volume of new car sales.

Within this space, the luxury segment is seeing a new kind of buyer:

Young, aspirational, digital-first consumers not just from metros, but from emerging urban hubs across the country.

In fact, 2024 was a turning point:

Indians bought approximately 80,000 used luxury cars ,far more than the 50,000 new ones sold that year.

✔️ Fact Check (and why this matters):

🔹 Top-selling models: Audi Q3, BMW X1, Mercedes GLA

🔹 Online bookings hit a record 👉 80%, up from 77% in Q1

🔹 70% of buyers are first-timers, with an average age of 34, and 26% are women

🔹 Petrol cars dominate (82%), while automatic transmissions make up 30% of sales

🔹 Diesel variants are more popular in Bengaluru; early EV/hybrid demand is emerging in Pune and Bengaluru

🔹 58%+ buyers use loans, with Coimbatore leading at 65% loan adoption
